If Blaine didnt do it someone else would, so fair play to him. These sort of cards are in many magic sets anyway, just not made by the USPC. Just thinking about this, are people annoyed because of the actual decks, or because its David Blaine ? A few years ago the Marvins range was in every Woolworths shop up and down the country, I dont remember any fuss about that - and that was alot more than a couple of trick decks.

I think you could argue that Marvins Magic was always a magic trick selling company. But David Blaine is an established magician who until now hasnt released any tricks into the general public market.

I also dont believe I have seen him use these decks in his specials?

True, but Marvin Berglas was an established magician before he decided to release his magic range. As his effects were sold in 'normal' high street shops this means they were accesed by the general public. They are both essentially doing the same thing.

Not to mention that David Blaine routinely uses tricks that anyone can easily buy for not much money at the local B&M shop or online. It's not as if his material is top secret R&D.

You're not kidding. Paul Daniels sold three gimmicked decks of cards (with different backs, although not in different colours). Anyone care to guess what three types of deck they were?

Oldies like Dale (and me, naturally) won't have to guess.

Paul's range later had a Nudist/Self-Printing Deck, which was pretty good. He also had a packet trick, based on Wild Card, but with a printing plot. If I'd known then what I know now, I might have combined the two!

Marvin's stuff is still in the shops, as is Dom from Dick & Dom & also that orange bloke off ITV kids shows & the re-branded Talking Telephone Numbers game show. It won't cause much trouble, at least if someone knows the Svengali deck I always get them to sign the card to proove it's the only one.

As said before, at least it's not the ID.
