Give us warning before you ask. We can stand back at a suitable distance

He was billed as, 'Comedian, Magician, Psychopath' it should really be, 'Psychopath, Comedian, Magician' as there wasn't a lot of magic. There were some basic effects, cut & restored rope, vanishing and reappearing silk in book, appearing aquarium (which he exposed!), jumping silk and a free selection of large cards (each with a different profanity written on!) which proved to be predicited.

The rest of the 2 hours were a torrent of very blue, very crude, very loud and manic chatter, jokes, rants etc. He was very fair and insulted just about every nationality (except, as one spectator was heard to say on the way out, the French) just about every faith, every sexual orientation and several magicians/mentalists including Derren Brown, David Blaine and Paul Daniels. He trurned the tables on those who 'knew' how his gigs took place, thus avoiding the first rows of seats, by handing out crisps, chocolate bars and rare copies of programmes to those in the very front row whilst 'Up yours'-ing the back rows of fans!

He's not my favourite performer but, having seen him in London recently where he was quiet, polite and nothing like his stage persona, he's growing on me!

I met him too. He was very charming and polite and not the monster I expected. He told me he had wanted to ask me something for thirty years. He once saw me do the Notis Cascade in my usual brilliant manner and asked me to teach him. I did notice when I used my own cards it worked perfectly. When I used his cards I did it just as badly as he did. I suspect strongly he should use a different deck.

And he purchased my memoirs which aren't even printed yet. Obviously a man of astute judgement.

I enjoy his vicious stage persona. A bit strong, but that's how I like my comedy. But I have met him in person, and he is a lovely, charming, friendly and helpful man. I am a fan.

Maybe it's my fault for expecting more of the 'magic' side of things.

What's even more annoying is that the programs he threw out ('Close-up magic and card tricks' listed his act (about 20-ish items) which I would have much preferred. But, there again, the venue wasn't exactly the best for close-up (that is to say, it was a stage performance).

Is there any change of seeing Mr Sadowitz's close-up act outside of the fringe and the odd London-based gig?

NB. I was the fella who shouted out "SH*TE!", closely followed by "You owe me a tenner!" Must admit, I was expecting a better (and more pithy) comeback than "Oh, shut up!"

I will say this for the man, he has a LOT of energy when onstage!
