If you do readings, there are some good "back of the business card" readings. You could also incorporate it into tricks where you need something like a bookmark, or to mark a place in a deck.

As an addition to this, on my business cards (which came from moo.com) I had a picture (to match the old style of my website, any further batches I print will have an updated style of course)

But I made the image in such a way that it looked good (and was based on my 'brand image' - since it looked like my website at the time of order), but it was light enough and didn't have any visual clutter to have a space for me (or whoever I give the card to) to write something

Yeah, make sure that they fit the style of your website, and your overall 'Package'

In terms of tricks, I do 'Bold Business - Mind Stunts' Quite regularly to hand out cards, (The backs are left blank), or if it is around a table I do 'Business Confidential - Chapters of Spelmann', or formally in cabaret, I do 'Magicians Graphology - Get Nyman'

You can also do Osterlind's watch routine, or just use the peek as is. I think it may be Acidus?

Alakazam's DVD 'The Unexpected' has lots of great impromptu routines using business cards, may be worth checking out.

I use www.vistaprint.com
Quick, wide selection, and can be very cheap. I also use them for display hoardings, brochures, magnetic signs for my car, and they provide cheap and easy to edit websites. I am not saying they are the best, but they are very good.

I spose most tricks done with business cards would involve a prediction or something written down on them, probably the easiest thing to do with them.
Flash fold by Paul Harris might also be worth looking into. I know it's in volume 1 of the art of astonishment. not sure where else

I was convinced I'd mentioned this elsewhere about Vistaprint business cards but for the life of me I can't find the post, so I'll mention it now.

Their card stock isn't the world's greatest by any means which means that if you're using them for effects, avoid a Sharpie as you get some bleeding through, something that can taint an effect in the eye of the audience if it's meant to be some kind of secret information.

On the other hand, it makes them ideal for tearing!

We've just had brace of cards printed up by Vistaprint and, to be honest, I was expecting thicker card stock and a less "inkjet" look from their professional range. When I uploaded the artwork, the site said the resolution was "excellent". The (admittedly quite faint but that was the point) design on the background of the reverse side didn't come in printing, even though it's there in the online preview.

I'll be trying Moo.com next time to see how they compare.

That's what a forum is for though. Collective experience and opinions to sort the chaff from the wheat as it were. :)

I cannot comment on the print issues for finer detail that Tomo mentions from Vista however if you have anything subtle like this then I would do as Jean says and get a ten free from moo.com to see if they meet with your expectations. When I was ordering some prints the other day from Vista I saw they had a huge sale on, I think business cards were quite heavily reduced too but cannot remember quite how much.

Indeed, I just brought 1500 for £7, plus they threw in a personalised post-it pad. A tip though is to have a black background, that way, whatever is written on the back can't be seen through and you can do peeks, dd's etc.

I have a lot of 33% of codes for VistaPrint if anyone needs one :p
