New ESP Deck (MK-MOD)

Postby Ted » Oct 29th, '10, 10:34

The following info has only been available to my existing clients and those with access to the Mentalism forum. As it's now the eve of the Halloween weekend I thought I'd spread the love a little and let you all know about it...

Following months of consultation, design and writing I am proud to announce MK-MOD, a set of printed ESP test cards.

They were designed and produced in consultation with magicians and mentalists around the world, as well as with ex-British armed forces and Ministry of Defence staff.

The most noticeable difference between the MK-MOD cards and most others on the market is that they do not have playing card-style back designs. Instead they have a 'test card' design, to help paranormal researchers calibrate video cameras and other experiment-monitoring equipment. (You can see an example of this on the site. Just click on the words "Modern scientific back design theme" and a digital image of an unmarked card will appear.)

The most important features of the MK-MOD set include:

+ High-visibility marking

+ Unmarked deck included

+ Double-faced cards (for some classic effects, including Corinda's The Third Choice. It's also compatible with Michael Murray's excellent 3SP effect, plus a load more.)

+ Double-backed card

+ Modern scientific back design theme

+ M.O.D.-style tuck box

+ Bridge-sized cards

+ Cards fit alternative Royal ESP boxes

+ Printed to top specification by Fournier

+ 300gsm card with linen (air cushion) finish for maximum durability

+ SPECIAL OFFER +

If you are signed up to our newsletter (BULLETIN) you already know about the limited special offer. Here are the details for everyone else:

We have slashed the standard price of the MK-MOD cards by 30 per cent for pre-orders.

We have also discounted the Test Card manual (which includes 10 bonus effects from magicians you've definitely heard of) by 30 per cent. This is a pretty strong book, which not only contains tricks and scripts, but also outlines essential mentalism principles and suggestions on how to use them with the cards. There are a couple of 'hidden' effects there too. Don't tell anyone

If that was not enough, we've even brought forward the launch of the exclusive ESPsycrets routine by Simon Edwards. Not only can you now get your hands on it, but at a 30 per cent discount.

This means that you can pre-order the MK-MOD decks, Test Card manual and ESPsycrets book for just £28.99 (plus p&p). If you buy these items after the launch date they will total over £40 (plus p&p).

Please place your order at http://mind.hak.me/products/mk-mod and we'll send you the cards and books in November 2010*.

And as always, if you have any questions, problems or great ideas please don't hesitate to drop us a line!

Very best wishes, and thanks for your support.
T

* The books are already printed and in stock. We're just waiting for Fournier to send over the cards from Spain. This should happen within the next couple of weeks. T.

Order placed. The deal was just too good to miss.

I am looking forward to getting these, hopfully before November 20th so that I can incorporate them in to a mentalist gig I have.

Many thanks John. I certainly hope to get them to you in time for the gig - not least because the 20th also happens to be the date for Tabula Mentis, and I want to bring some decks and books with me to show and tell :)

The Test Card book that you'll receive has some brilliant material in it. I truly believe you'll be surprised at how much useful info we've included.

Cheers,
T.

Some early reviews are trickling in. Obviously the cards haven't been tested yet but the ESPsycrets booklet and the Test Card book were sent out to a few reviewers.

There are some nice comments at http://mind.hak.me/products/espsycrets/, while I've also had positive feedback from Paul Brook and the Paralabs people.

Cheers,
T.

I have an update on the MK-MOD ESP test cards...

We have just received word from Fournier, the company responsible for
printing the MK-MOD ESP cards, that there will be a delay in
delivering the order. It was due to arrive by mid-November but it's
looking like early December now. The delay is apparently because the
company has replaced a large printer.

This situation is enormously disappointing and I am very conscious
that delivering when promised is incredibly important for everyone -
especially our own customers. So first I would like to apologise to
all those who have placed early orders. Anyone who would like a refund
simply needs to send me an email and I'll return your money without
question.

The good news is that all of the books are ready to go, so as soon as
the cards arrive we'll be able to ship out all complete orders
immediately.

Very best wishes, and thanks for your support.

That is a shame for you as well as us. It is so irritating when something outside of your control scuppers your plans.

As far as I am concerned I am happy to wait and still looking forward to this whole package.

You couldn't have done any better than chosing Fournier in my opinion. I use their marked deck exclusivley even though my normal stock is blue bikes. I have yet to find a Bicycle deck as clearly marked as the Fourniers. I have only had one spectator ever spot the marks and that was an eight year old girl, if I am going to get burned it always seems to be the kids who do it!

Disappointing, but not your fault. I know the quality of your products and am happy to wait. Okay, maybe not happy, but wouldn't consider cancelling the order.

What is most impressive is that you are keeping us in the loop. I've bought things from other places and waited ... waited ... waited <cricket sounds> and never received explanations about the delays. I've even been shined on about 'it's in the mail' and when I received them the postmark was well after the emails. Yeah, you know who you are.

So I can wait without a bad taste in my mouth because Ted respects me as a customer and lets me know what's the haps with the cards.

Good on ya, Ted! And thanks for the update here and the personal one in my email bin.

Hi all,

Fournier has just informed us that the MK-MOD cards have been printed. They still need to go through the packaging process, and obviously there is time for transportation, but the good news is that we should expect delivery before December.

If you want to see what a large stack of 2,000 uncut ESP decks looks like click here: http://mind.hak.me/img/mk-mod/MK-MOD-printed.jpg

Thanks for your continued patience.

The MK-MOD pre-order bundle deal period has now expired.

Without wanting to tempt fate, we're expecting delivery of the cards today. As soon as they arrive we'll send them out, along with the books.

Best wishes,
T.
