Somehow I think I shan't be needing those three tubes of Insta-Snow I bought at half the price last Summer!

Just go outside and pick up as much as you like... might melt in your pockets, though.

Here's the view from our back window a few hours ago:

To be fair, it's now sunshine and blue skies. For the moment.

And after escaping the initial downpour of some weeks back, my bit of the world is now covered in approx. 15 cms of snow. It will be such a joy to make my way to Gatwick tomorrow and (hopefully) fly out to spend Christmas abroad...

Seconded.

We were going to Milton Keynes today but when I called my friend to confirm what time we were meeting they asked "Was I really going to travel in this?".

Apparently it's very messy there, not a flake of snow here in Peterborough. It is however a tad cold.

I'm looking forward to the inevitable flood warnings once it begins to melt.

Like we never expected the snow to turn into water.

I've got to try to get up to Stirling in a few days to spend Christmas with Dave's family. I'm really not looking forward to that trip.

Sticking with the weather theme, I received an email from a guy on friday night saying that he was booked in Bridlington on sat but now lived in wales & could not get to the gig. I emailed him back saying that as I was much nearer & available I could do it for him if he gave me the details.

I didn't hear back in the next hour so I emailed again saying that even if he had got cover already just to let me know as I did have plans that I was willing to change in order to take the booking. Still waiting to hear from him. All I got was "a one-time automatic confirmation to let you know you're on my Boxbe Guest List."

He's called Mark Bowden, anyone know him?

Right. Weather is officially my enemy after being stuck at Gatwick Airport for more than a day (made it to where I wanted to be though, and it only took me 32 hours in total!!)

Congratulations! As much as the flak is flying in this fair land, the situation isn't much better elsewhere - Germany has had a lot of problems and seen airport closures similar to the UK. The one thing which really irritates me is when those 'in authority' assure us most earnestly that 'lessons will be learned'. Possibly so but it never seems to be the lessons which they ought to learn!
