Hello everyone,

My name is Lauren. I am new to this site. I am interested in learning about the occult. I have always wondered and was curious about it but never really studied it. I hope to learn a great many things from this site.

L

While you can learn a great many things from this site it may not all be entirely what you're after.
If you just want to trick other people into beleiving in occulty* type things you'll find some stuff but we're more into pulling rabbits out of hats than sacrificing them on alters.

*one for the grammer thread perhaps.

I'm not sure what the grammer thread is, but there's always the grammar thread?

Yes, that would be the "speeling and grammer" thread?

Those who have read Dan Brown's 'Lost Symbol' will know that Occult doesn't necessarily mean dark and nasty, it also means Hidden - and that can apply to many of the moves, sleights and gimmicks we use. I rather like the idea of using an occult TT :D !

I've always liked the fact I can honestly tell people I'm a student of the occult.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Lol well pulling rabbits out of hats is precisely what I had in mind about learning of the occult. Oh, I've never affiliated 'occult' with dark and nasty, per se. I've always thought of it as ambiguous, secret and esoteric aka interesting. Lol. Thanks guys for the warm welcome.

Oh yes I did have a question I'd like to ask. I was curious about the differences between Charms, Amulets and Talismans, if any; and also where is the best place I can get genuine articles or if I have to make them myself.
Thanks. :-)

Plenty of 'New Age' shops around, especially on line, who will be happy to supply such items. Google is your friend!
