I first got a magic set when I was about 6 or 7 which I liked and used to destruction. After that I was an armchair enthusiast - watching magic on TV only.

About 3 years ago (age 27) I bought a magic set for myself with the intention of impressing my daughter only. It had a Cigarette Vanisher, Svengali Deck, Hypnose Deck, Dynamic Coins, Casino Cups and Pen thru Note. I loved this set and started looking on the internet for more tricks and bought them. I've bought some right duffers but mostly I have some awesome effects that amazed not only my daughter but my friends too. As I was a DJ on the club scene I began taking a few effects out with me to perform on unsuspecting clubbers. The responses and reactions were always so amusing I began to get deeper and deeper into the art of magic.

Last year I was very ill for a while so magic didnt come into it much but this year I have refound my enthusiasm and I'm back on the magical road of knowledge and abiltiy!!

Haven't we all?

I had an on / off interest in magic since being a kid and had a few magic sets for Xmas presents but never got going. I then got a Svengali deck in my teens and in my 20's some self workers such as dynamic coins.

My rekindled interest came only a few years ago but I didn't know where to buy, or even that magic shops existed. I soon found direction through the internet and it's been a passion ever since.

I had my first request last year to perform at a wedding and now regularly perform at weddings and parties. I've now had a few enquiries about doing some corporate work. The moral is to keep practicing and if I can do it then I'm sure that you all can!

A few years back I used to help with a bit of DJ work with my Son's mobile Disco for Weddings, Golden Oldies type of bookings etc. A 'friend' told me he had acquired a record collection from someone who'd 'retired' and I could have about 200 records for a fiver. A bit of a gamble but too good to miss so I paid up and collected the records. I then discovered that I had bought the finest collection of second releases by one-hit wonders in the universe. Not even worth turning into fruit bowls!

I started at 15. Acctualy the story of how I got into it is kinda funny.
I'm on a website called purerave.com, I'm not really into raves, but a friend asked me to sign up, and so I did. You can post pictures, and some people post animated .gif files aswell. And there are previews of newly posted pictures. One day I saw a .gif of someone doing the vanish trick, I started talking to the guy, I don't really know how it happened, but next thing he was on msn messenger with me, and he showed me a few things, then pointed me in the right direction if I wanted to progress. And so I did, I started with harassing my parents to buy me things, then when I got a job started buying my own tricks and what not.
