ive been trying too work out how the berglass effect works i tried showing a mate and by mistake got the card at his number he had the deck from start to finish the greatest luck ive ever had but ive concluded the original must use a stacked deck anyone know the order of the cards

Providing he did use a stack, it makes no difference what the order were to you. If you want to learn a stack, I suggest the Aronson stack of Mnemonica by Juan Tamariz.

Okay, let's assume that in the original effect, David Berglas used a deck of cards that were in a stacked order. It doesn't matter what order, surely? Any order will do, why do you need to know the exact stack he used?

i belive that the way the cards were stacked meant certain cards were in position so that it would be the card choosen by berglas influencing them towards that card phschlogically

Yeah, Berglas influencing them. He had everything tailored to his own style, you should try do the same.

There is a book on the card work of Berglas coming out later this year.

The greatest luck you've ever had was hitting on a 52:1 gamble?

It will all be tipped in the book when it comes out in April. If you want to know how it felt to experience THE Berglas effect then check my blog at the site below. Maybe see you at The Session?

magicc - you're missing the whole point of The Berglas Effect...

no one will be telling you "how to do it", because no one truly knows...

its a case of studying and applying your own thinking...or giving up...

I saw some evil comment somewhere that he actually uses a stooge and has wound up the magicians for years over this. I don't think this is the case but it has to be said that he indeed has a history of using stooges at least some of the time even though he has always denied it. It does make one wonder I suppose..................................

Mind you I think he once showed me the same trick although I can't be sure. If he did then I wasn't a stooge. Mind you, I am the worst person to show a trick to. He looked quite disconcerted that I didn't look terribly astonished. That is because, believe it or not, magic bores the hell out of me. I like to do it but I can't bear watching it.

To me the trick is no big deal anyway. It is a good card trick I suppose but there are hundreds of good card tricks. I am not sure why I am supposed to get overly excited over this one.

You know what, I've been doing Lazy man's card trick which is half of ACAAN and specs generally are under impressed, because they dont get it. They know its a trick and think regardless of how it must have been a trick. It's a great magician fooler, but they dont pay the wages.

From what I can see the spec guessed the card and guessed the number, in fact they did all the work and yes, the card was there. Now an ID, well that is more impressive, cos you pre-empted it and the magician did the work ;)

I wasn't a stooge either.

We'll all find out when the book comes out next year, I suppose.
