Hi Im a Costume Maker based in the midlands but also reg in the london area.
In the past I have worked on projects where I have worked from Paintings and illustrations to create period costume.
I often start by researching into the period this involves visiting museums, art galleries and specialist reference libraries.
I take into consideration my choice of fabrics to fit in with the period and sometimes use techniques in aging and distressing fabrics to make the costume look more authentic.
I often use a range of surface decoration techniques such as dyeing and printing, freehand machine embroidery and beadwork to create drama and style.
