Newbie from West Lothian Scotland

Postby craigie » Jan 20th, '11, 01:59

Hi my names Craig Williamson im 20 and I stay in West Lothian.

As cliched as it sounds I have always been in to magic but now its becoming more and more of a hobby.

I have bought some books such as Bobo's modern coin magic and The Expert at the card table. These books are a bit out dated so I aim to learn more modern methods for close up magic and slieghts.

I am interested in comedy magic too and would like to write a routine to perform at pubs around my area.

It would surprise you how old most of the ''modern'' stuff is

Hi and welcome! Those books may be written in a rather old style but the content is bang up to date and forms the basis of most 'modern' magic.

    Hiya,

Totally agree with the boys above, you wont find much in 'modern' books and DVDs that's not covered in those

Are you a member of West Lothian Magic Circle by chance?

I ask because they visited Forth Valley the other day. Alas, I couldn't make it. If you were there, I hope you had a good time.

If you are not a member, go join. I'm sure it'll help you lots and you'll have a lot of fun with them.

    Hi Gregory,

Welcome to TM I am sure you will find this forum helpful, as with most things you get out what you put in. So don't be afraid to ask questions.

By the way I noticed you said you "stay in West Lothian". Do you stay because they don't let people out, or by choice.
