All three test cards from The National Institute of Parapsychology (my favorite being the Chromatology Test), my Sanctum card, the two, three, four and five of spades, Kioku, and the You Know Who card.

Business cards, money, and regular stuff.

Thank god for the Hideout Wallet.

I did have an Outlaw wallet containing Kioku, a list of movies, You know who card, thought reader card and Sanctum II but alas I have lost it (presumably in the move to Kent!).

Who'd have thought losing a wallet could be so bloody expensive!

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Hmmm I just use a normal wallet, as I like the fact it's funky and currently have Kioku, a trimmed version of Heirloom and Paul Brook's Thought Reader Card.

Yet to make the grade is Zoltar by Alchemy Moon, although having done a recent pruning of effects and the associated CUPS spurred on by a surge in Paypal funds, once again I feel there is a gap to be filled. Mainly, I do feel one has a certain confidence knowing that there are a number of off the cuff and on the fly effects I could perform if I don't have a pack of cards; there is the subtle satisfaction in the same way carrying a pack of cards on a night out holds, although my wallet contents often get overlooked when performing magic on nights out. Sometimes visual and instant is hard hitting, although visual and instant benefits from a flowery dressing being drawn and built up. Pocket mentalism, I feel, are for those occasional lulls one might expect at work, or relaxed environments / situations.

Nethertheless there is the overwhelming urge to purchase a pocket mentalism effect, and I am considering PSI Card (Outlaw), BIP Book 2 (Alakazam) or You Know Who Card (Paul Brook). Unless there is anything else out there? As to variety, whilst the idea of a bigger word choice appeals, essentially PSI Card would duplicate Thought Reader. I have also seen Alexandre of Alchemy Moon fame perform BIP somewhere on Youtube, and like the premise, although fear it will take up valuable wallet space and possibly get manky unlike a laminated pocket mentalism card. It could prob replace Kioku though. Finally, You Know Who is said here on TM to be evoke appreciation as opposed to amazement. My hope for next purchase is for responses of "how?!" (a la Thought Reader) rather than "ah.. that's interesting."

Any suggestions or indeed a curve ball of an alternative recommendation?

Sorry for long post!

Don't bother with Psi Card. Mine went straight to the back of the cupboard. Take a look at Paul Carnazzo's cards - I've just received Test Conditions but haven't tried it out yet. It's promising but I think I'd only use it for close-up. I also have the original BIP book which plays a bit bigger but is a tight fit in a wallet.

One of the items I carry is something you probably all have. It's not a feat of magic, but allows you to win a drink at the bar. Hand an ID of 52 playing cards (ie: a pretend one) to a spectator and have them shuffle it. Pull 1 card from your wallet and lay it on the bar in front of them, face down. Go through the motions of having them pick an imaginary card from the ID. The bet is that if their card is on the other side of the face down card, they buy you a drink. If it's not, you'll by them one. If they accept the bet, have them turn over the card whilst you place your drink order. Simple and fun - works great when folk know you are capable of real magic.

I hope you're getting along well with the "Test Conditions" card!

There are 3 other wallet cards available, as well as a "Wallet Organizer" - AKA "The Wallet-Wallet", that can organize lots of "things" that would otherwise get lost in most wallets.

You can check them out here:

Thanks!

Hi Paul

I've tried out Test Conditions a couple of times and it does seem to be getting some strong reactions.

One small point - the corners are very sharp. I was worried about it catching inside my wallet so I stowed it in a coin envelope - it got stuck inside the envelope and I had to allow the card to tear the envelope to get it out!

In my regular wallet, no magic at all.

In my performance wallet (Jerry O'Connell Large Plus Wallet) I carry Extreme Burn, Credit Card Fraud, Cataclysm photos, Wow, Various foreign and novelty banknotes, a gimmicked envelope, a porno bicycle card for those 'hen night type' groups and business cards.

Just added to the wallet... the necessaries for Matt Mello's lottery routine, his "red berry" routine and Bill Goldman's Mental Yarn (handwritten on a blank piece of card)
