Prop Quality: The vision box is a vision of beauty… but it’s a box. It operates so smoothly it’s like the magic works all by itself. All sides are solid and there are no mechanical parts. The box is 100% examinable.
Initial Thoughts: I would have to split this section into two areas. The Method and the Effect:
The Method is such a joy to operate, it feels so smooth and natural and isn’t angle sensitive if performed correctly.
The Effect for me is weak. Predicting the numbers that will appear on three dice just isn’t that strong for me.
After Playing for a while: I really enjoy working with this box although I’m still not over keen on predicting the outcome of three dice as a standalone effect. I think this would be much stronger as a lead in to a confabulation routine or at least a lead into a stronger effect of a similar nature. I may be wrong, I just don’t see this as a strong standalone effect.
First Performance: I have shown this box to a number of magic buddies and they all love the quality and ease of use. I then decided to take a punt and perform this on its own to a family member and I have to hold my hands up and say I was wrong…
Overall Audience Reaction: I was wrong. Lay people love this as a standalone effect. It can be repeated, (though naturally this is frowned upon) and the move required is so natural that it is never spotted.
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous prop. Works like a dream, feels lovely to perform.
Cons: None.
Value for Money: I love this and don’t regret a single penny.
