Slippery New Cards

Postby morrowsean » Feb 3rd, '11, 22:35

Hi, Does anyone find new Bicycle Cards to be really slippery? Its almost impossible to do double lifts as cards keep sliding apart and also difficult with other moves/handlings? Is there any way round this? How long do they stay like this for?

Cheers!

No offence old fruit, but you've had a new deck of cards before surely?

Just keep playing with them - faros, riffles, whatever...they'll break in and hit that sweet spot soon enough.

The length of time they stay like that depends on how much you play with them.

Yeah i know all that thanks mate, im just wondering how people manage to keep their cards so clean and fresh and still manage to pull off difficult moves. Mine usually hit that "sweet spot" once their all grubby nd worn looking?

Maybe its just preference then. Certainly if you were doing a four or five packet flourish then having really old cards would help them stick together as packets.

If you're talking DL's, you can afford to be a little sloppy with new cards, as older cards can have a dirty border and it really shows when they're not perfectly aligned.

Wash your hands dilligently before each and every practise session. They get all grubby and worn simply from the dirt and oils from your hands. Make sure you aren't dropping them on various surfaces, and just keep working them.

I'm the total opposite of you on this one. Love the feel of fresh cards.
