Looking for a new prop

Postby Flood » Jan 30th, '11, 17:33

I'm looking for a mentalism prop that is self working that leaves you with only presentation to worry about.I'm looking for something killer like the ID.

I've recently bought a mind reader wallet and the device is so clever it leaves you with nothing to do but present your mental miracle.

Does anyone have any suggestions. One thing though is that I'd rather stay away from the pasteboards as I have enough tricks to operate with those bad boys.

Cheers

what ever you buy, you will still have to put a lot of work in, to hide the method.

If its a peek device you are after, why not look at the various methods in 13 steps, or Anneman PMM that you can make at home?

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

surely it all depends on what you want the prop for? Why not buy a book like Annemann, Corinda or perhaps Fulves if you're starting out and get some ideas from those? They'll be much more value to you than some random prop.

I'm with the Lady on this one - researching METHODS and TECHNIQUES is far more beneficial than props are. Annemann's work alone will give you ideas that make your props nothing more than pencils/pens and a few slips of paper - many of which requiring almost no "handling" leaving you free to focus solely on presentation.

I think it is only right to add, that everything is 'killer' it is about your presentation. The effects are just effects, it is the magician who brings them to life...or kills them.

A bag of envelopes, then a bit of research.

Osterlind's Seafire Sequence. All you need is a three-way bag.

Multi dimensional from pro mystic is a great prop, a bit pricey but great reactions.

As a mentalist these would be what I would look at:

-Thought Transmitter
-If you have the cash Rhine sense probe
-Marked cards
-Max Maven multiplicity has alot of great stuff
-book tests (a few version require you to do almost nothing)
-Any $$$ Labcomagic or Pro Mystic device
-Ted Baxtors Wallet
-Divine time

So many more but most the stuff above is 50-$$$$
