Quick Questions (ESP, Peek Wallet)

Postby Yano » Feb 11th, '11, 13:19

Hi guys I'm in a little conundrum, I'm trying to find a decent esp deck and peek wallet. Requirements are just esp has to be marked deck. and the peek wallet requirement is just i don't need to open it to see wot they wrote. Other features in the wallet would be cool :).

Also has anyone seen this type of peek wallet before u dont need to insert in a pocket of the wallet? Not sure if it exist cause i was fooled in Hong Kong by a peek wallet and i had no idea how it was done but if i remember correctly i didnt put it in a pocket inside the wallet

At the moment i've found these, if possible i would like the recommended products to be avaliable from the magic warehouse since I'm purchasing from there.

Any wallet that uses the SUC principle would work. Alakazam's Stealth Assassin would work fine. As for ESP cards, I believe there some reviews on this site :)

Hi Yano,

I have the perfect peek wallet for you. It doesn't require you to open it to peek and im selling it at a fantastic price. The condition is 'as new' complete with original packaging.

If you are interested take a look in the trading forum and send me a PM.

hope that helps.

Alec

Can't give you anything concrete on the peek wallets, though I've been looking at them lately and will be paying attention here to see what comes up.

As for the ESP deck, I have got Michael Murray's Beyond ESP 3 from Magicbox. The cards are great. There's a very subtle marking system and I've caused much amazement and bafflement with them so far. The booklet of routines is also excellent and there are more great routines on the Submodalities DVD that was released for the previous edition.

The best ESP deck is beyond Esp (any version)

And Peek wallets there are many, and many of them are good.

But I love the Assasin. I am on my second.

:D

My absolutist most favouritist ESP deck is the MK-MOD one, closely followed by Beyond ESP 2. Both come with an excellent book of effects. Royal Magic's ESP deck is also very nice, although you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who likes the starry back design (I actually like it). All those decks are marked.

This is exactly my opinion too (even down to quite liking the Royal back design). Beyond ESP is very, very good, and you get contrasting back colours, but MK-MOD is easier to read, and you get one marked and one regular set of cards.

Right, back to the peek wallet issue. There are many to choose from.

First, do you want a proper wallet, or what could be more accurately described as a business card holder? Outlaw Effects do one or two "proper" wallets with peeks (they keep changing their line, so I can't recall the names), and there is also Alakazam's Infinity Wallet. If you wanted a big jacket-style wallet, then the JOL Large Plus has a peek (although it's not primarily a peek wallet).

The Infinity and JOL Plus both allow you to perform card to wallet easily (the JOL one has two different card to wallet methods). The Infinity also has an indexing feature, while the JOL allows for a version of Confabulation, and also lets you do things like card to identity card case. There is a smaller version of the Plus Wallet, but I am not sureif it has all the features of the larger version. It is also not that small!

Some might question why you would put a business card in a 'proper' wallet, but I think it is fine, in the right circumstances. Just don't get your cards out of a card case or holder, and then take out your wallet.

While the Stealth Assassin Wallet is billed as a 'proper' wallet, for me that simply doesn't fly. It's a business (and possibly credit) card holder (and a jolly good mentalism wallet, with two different peeks and an index function). Outlaw also do some good versions of the business card holder type.

I suspect that you saw either a Thought Transmitter or Thought Reader Wallet in action. The latter is (I think) a knock-off of the former. However, confusingly, the picture in that link is of a Mind Reader Wallet (which I think might be a knock-off a different kind of mentalism wallet).

By the way, the Vernet ESP cards are also fine. I somehow missed that you had asked about them.

Well i decided to get the Beyond ESP 3 bundle since it comes with 2 decks and gaffs. Thanks for the advice

For the wallet i don't really mind if its only a business card holder type really. I'm kinda hoping for abit of openness for the peak though like turning the wallet over show both sides. Also i rather not have the need of electronics/batteries. If possible i'd like it so the spectator can stick it into the wallet. Like in the video below. Cause I'm not 100% wot the SUC method is but, if its the method i think it is then i guess u cant show the other side of the wallet.

The mk-mod's are great, i have quite poor vision and can read the marks in a dimly lit room, but that does not mean they stick out like a sore thumb, the markings are very well hidden.

The Telethought Wallet. Outlaw Effects makes a similar product, which is superior, in my opinion. I've just checked, and the only current one with this sort of gaff is the Pantera. That is a slight development of the Panther. They used to do one called the Magnum, which I preferred.

Not only does the Pantera do more, it doesn't have those gold corners, which I hate on wallets.

Thanks i will look into Pantera. But it doesnt seem to be on Magic warehouse sadly D:

also no another note. A quick question bout okito boxes, which is better quality the original or tango products? Or are they bout the same? Aluminum better then brass or vice versa? Sounds better maybe? i dont know. Or its just a preference of color.

Another option although more $$

Go with a Rhine Sense Probe and any wallet.

5 cards and no need to see what they put in the wallet to know what it is.

They can even put it in Thier own.

ok okito boxes either brass or aluminum personal choice as each are weighted for the moves needed, personaly I prefer a brass one it looks heavier and gives a good contrast to silver and chinese coins.
any okito box is good, some prefer rounded edges or the feel of wood but at the end of the day each does its job well.
