How does he do this? Pick a card

Postby theimaginaryduck » Feb 17th, '11, 22:17

I'm really interested to know this. This guy asks someone to pick a card, and he goes ahead and reveals their chosen card.

I know it's basic-type mentalism, but I'm surprised at his (apparent) accuracy.

Also at 0:58 he guesses a name the audience had chosen.

Interested to hear how you think he did it.

First, I am not going to tell you what I think because I know exactly how this is done. If you want to know there are plenty of books or DVD's on the market which will teach you some basic principals of magic.

My suggestion if you wish to learn about magic is to pick up a copy of 'Mark Wilson Course In Magic' and start with the basics and work your way through it.

Good luck with your endeavour.

It's in there. Keep digging. Sometimes when a performer gets his or her hands on an effect they change it up to suit themselves so others may or may not recognize it.

Don't over think it and read between the lines. It is a basic 'prediction' type of effect. Some of the flourishes like the snap change are a little more advanced but you don't need that to create the effect to which you are referring.

Really?

I don't want to expose but I will say this. There is no prep work prior to this effect. He has one card held up before anyone names anything.

If you are new to magic then I would say to you that this effect takes LOADS of work to get right.

If you want to learn this magical miracle then I'll gladly tell you the secret. Now...... Do you have paypal?
