i cant see

Postby magicj » Feb 20th, '11, 16:29

Just found a big pile of A4 flash paper sealed away in a little bag...
Thought i'd light a piece to see if it's still good ...and now i cannot see from the flash, nor can i hear from the incredible screech of my fire alarm.

Just thought i'd let someone know as i may be typing in braille from here on in.

Never hold an a4 piece and light from the bottom...you singe the hairs off of your arm to say the least....

If something like that lasts for more than a few minutes I'd go see a doctor or something.

I guess it's like burning magnesium or looking at the sun, ...don't stare directly at it.

It does form a little bit - it is fire, after all.

And very bright when a whole paper is lit!

I once snuck a piece of flash paper in a cigarette a rolled for a roommate, to get revenge he lit all ten pieces that were drying on my radiator at once.
Suffice to say he was blinded and my towels were set on fire.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I've also done this so can confirm that it can set of a fire alarm even with no visible smoke. I've no idea how this works because my fire alarm doesn't even go off when there's thick smoke from burnt toast.

Late night flash paper shenanigans under a smoke detector = very unpopular giznorm.

Yep, and it is only now when I realise how dangerous it was! Ahhhhh the ideas of an 18 year old bored in his room...should have stuck to a mass debating session with a friend...we were discussing sexism...

Paint fumes can set off a smoke alarm, as well as various other nearby chemical reactions, not just a smokey fire.
