Coin in box wrapped with elastic bands

Postby greenbelter » May 24th, '05, 08:51

I have just purchased a cool little trick. Not sure what its called but its the one where you vanish a coin and produce a little blue box with rubber band wrapped around it. Then inside is a white box with rubber bands and inside that is little red pouch with a rubber band and inside that is the spectators coin.

Its a neat effect but I was wondering if anyone had used this and had any variations for producing the box in something else. I did see someone produce this from a ball of wool but wasn't too impressed.

I'd appreciate some feedback from people that have tried this effect. It’s a good effect in itself but I guess it has the potential to become much more spectacular.

Hi greenbelter. Personally I think you may be in danger of overthhinking this one.

It sounds to me like it is a rather nice reveal in impossible place of a previously vanished coin/ring. So why strive to make it stronger? Simply put it works. The signed coin (they do sign the coin right?) is vanished. Well thats magic for a start, but when it appears almost instantly in a box in a box in a box etc., well that is pretty impressive to an audience.

By putting ity then into a ball of wool, or a lemon imho I think you are just over complicating it for the audience. Sure stick it in a lemon instead of you like, but not as well as. The audience is just going to remember it was in an impossible place anyway...

just my thoughts

What would be probably even more impresive to a layman, if the coin appeared in a lemon, seemingly untouched. May not be a impresive for us, but they really dont care, epecially if they pick the lemon!
