I was in a cafe today in macclesfield, near where my mum used to live. She was telling me what all the shops used to be when she lived there and was about to tell me what the cafe had been, when I stopped her and looked around. I could see that it had been built so that people could line up for the counter, with little room for shelves (as there were pillars in the way) and it looked just like the shape of an old fashioned chemist. So I risked it abd did all the standard mentalist build up before revealing my educated guess "it was a chemist, wasn't it?". And it was correct! Needless to say she was amazed, and I felt incredibly pleased with myself. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

Yesterday, my room mate was teasing someone in our building about a sticker she bought for her phone. He asked me to guess how much she paid for it and I guessed (with utter confidence-- I guess with confidence all the time in case I get a hit) twelve dollars, which was exactly right. I brushed it off...

I suppose it's the way we use these opportunitys that mentalism (and magic) is all about!
