Hi, my name is Nick aka Falling Link and I have decided to learn and take up magic as a serious hobby.

I have brought the Royal Road to Card Magic and various tricks and DVD's, but at the moment I am focusing on the good old bicycle deck as my weapon of choice.

When I was a child I use to dip into magic, but only basic tricks... however many years have passed and I am pretty much starting from the beginning again.

I would be very greatful if anyone could suggest any texts or DVD's to help aide me in this new hobby. I look forward to chatting to you all.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

um dvd wise, something like Daryl's Ambitious Card dvd, or I've heard good things about Jay Sankey's Ambitious Card too.
It's a classic plot, everyone does it (which may be a bad thing - personally I have my own way of handling it, instead of, oh the card is on top again!!!)
but certainly one of these dvds, will teach you a few sleights from which you make up some routines / have fun with.

Welcome to TM.
