Might be worth posting this question in a part of the forum where it is relevant. I was expecting you to have posted a review of this effect.

The thing is, the way it's done is so old fashioned - you can find the moves and make-it-yourself instructions in one of I. G. Amekaf's books... can anyone else remember the title of it?

Thread now moved - please understand that we can't tell you how things are done but, as i n Zack's post above, we might be able to point you in the right direction to discover the method for yourself.

Isn't it just Fickle Nickel with added Mike Oldfield?

OMG! No difficult moves? No strings, wires, magnets or loops? Any coin? Even a one from an audience member? Has the greatest magicians in coin magic scratching their heads? I gotta get me one of those!

Oh wait, never mind it seems you have to have 666 tattoed on your knuckles for this to work... (there is some sarcasm involved here)

Or I could stick with one of my current methods to vanish a coin using sleight of hand and have the exact same result and I don't have to tattoo my knuckles.

I have nothing against gimmicks. I seriously don't like the way this one is advertized.

From what I can gather, it doesn't involve a gimmick

It's a (very common) coin sleight that you can find in very common coin sleight books
