Saw this film today. Riveting - well worth a viewing if you get the chance. Definitely going to be award-winning. James Franco's acting was absolutely phenominal - some of the best I have ever seen.

Anybody else seen this?

I'll second that. Great film... some incredibly tense and emotive scenes.

Highly recommended. I'd recommend you bring a blindfold and ear-plugs for one of the scenes though

Saw it. Loved it. But don't take apple juice to the cinema. And don't plan to cook a lamb shank afterwards.

I bought the book the other day. It's next on my list. I am looking forward to it. Might catch the film afterwards. I've heard it is good.

Haven't seen the film yet but I met the guy who took off his arm with a pen knife while halfway up a mountain. I'm not sure if this is the same story or an adaptation (sounds the same).

Anyway, he was giving a talk at a business conference and he was a real inspiration. It made other day to day issues seem very insignificant when you're faced with a life changing moment.

Looking forward to the film

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Saw this when it first came out - loved it, and really think that James Franco is an amazing actor, he has really taken it to the next level with this film and I think he'll be going places after this. I hope he gets some awards and stuff for the work he put into this role, its an amazing film to watch :D
