Bill tube

Postby Flood » Feb 17th, '11, 20:26

I recently bought a bill tube but am wondering about methods of using it for a mentalism routine i.e. the specatator's thought of word is inside a note that is locked in the bill tube.

Does anyone have any suggestions or references to give or maybe even a PM.

Any help would be much appreciated

I have searched the lenghts of the internet the past few days and have found very little about it.

The only thing I found was a Magic Cafe comment suggesting it

I'm stumped.

The problem is, in order to have a chosen word inside the tube, you will have to...
A, write the word, roll it up, and shove it in,
Or
B . write the word, show a paper inside the tube, then switch your written paper, for the one inside.

If you chose A, you have to justify the extra time the routine takes.
If you chose B, then why use a bill tube?
Its also worth remembering that you have to justify the tube somehow, because the natural thing would be to write the word on a card, or have it in an envelope.

I see what you mean.So are you suggesting in your own oppinion that there isn't much use for it on the mentalism front?

yes , and no. You need to find a reason for the tube. I seem to recall that i posted a routine on this, where the tube is introduced as a piece of Trench art, made from an old bullet case.

Bullets as we know, are supposed to have a name on them or in this case ,in them. The spectator choses a name. the "bullet" is opened, and inside there is a rolled piece of paper with the chosen name written on it.

If you first antique the BT, you can call it mini time capsule that you found in your travels through the back woods of Leighton. Could make for an interesting presentation?
