The Hot Shot Cut

Postby GoldFish » May 14th, '05, 00:01

I just spent 10 minutes filming and editing a clip of the Hot Shot Cut only to discover I'd already done one. However, the forum is playing up again so I can only upload the new one at the moment. I'll reply and see if I can upload the old one aswell :)

All the best,

That is just incredible! It looks so hard to co-ordinate your fingers, and move them like that. Very good.

Purchase either the original source (which I highly recommend) Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights (vol 8, but all of them are worth having) or Paul Harris' Art of Astonishment series which contains an authorised (by Daryl) republication of a simpler method. Sorry but I can't remember which particular volume it is and my copies are at the other end of the country!

The Hot Shot Cut, as taught by Oz Pearlman in Born to Perform, was causing me some problems as I was having a lot of trouble holding the deck between the first and middle fingers (pain!) But this alternative handling looks great and having just tried it, it doesn't feel like my fingers are about to break, either!
