Modern classics

The classic books I have on my shelf were published over 60 years ago. This being the case what do you think are the classic magic books published in the last 30 years? :D

The Berglas Book for sure. I'm sure others will say things like Strong Magic, Pure Effect etc.
Classics nowadays tend to be about performance rather than method, at least that's what I've found to be true.

Tommy Wonder's books and the Paul Harris Art of Astonishment books are probably in that category.

psychological subtleties, kentonism and Card College off the top of my head.

i think we can count Luke Jermay's 7 Deceptions and Building Blocks as classics as well

The Magic of Michael Ammar is a modern classic.
Id also say that John Lovicks brilliant Switch book is set to become a future classic.

Patrick Page's Big Book Of Magic is a modern classic, but I notice it is published 34years ago in 1976, so errrr.... can you go back in time and ask me the same question four years ago?

I'm reliably informed that the new Pat Page book is imminent...

The final edition of Amateur Magician's Handbook was published less than 30 years ago, if that counts.

I would have to begin with Kenton Knepper's works on Mind Reading.

One can not forget, Banachek's Psychological Subtleties and Psychophysiological thought-Reading

Card College is a wonderful and in my mind complete degree in card ledgermain.

The Illustrated History of Magic should be/MUST be on any serious magician's or even mentalist's shelf.

Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz is also a must (in my mind) for anyone looking to take their magic a step-further into the realm of Showmanship.

Some lesser-known works include the Messiah Process-a must need for any budding Cult-Leader and of course of course of course- Ormond McGill's New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism for anyone needing a complete foundation into the subject.
