Belonging to any magic club will not get you gigs. Because the reality is that the laypeople don't really know about either, at least not enough in that it will get you a gig.


I think that the magic circle draws respect from the audiences as the first thing many of my layperson friends think of when they think of magic is the magic circle.


Well, I don't think people in the United States really know about the Magic Circle.

Perhaps not, but in the UK it is very famous

I've known people who assumed The Magic Circle was the name of a trick, a bit like a Magic Square or Squaring the Circle. Another assumption is that it was the first and therefore oldest UK magic society when in fact that honour goes to the British Magical Society who were formed in the same year as the MC, 1905, but some 6 months earlier! Despite this longer history, the BMS is still a regional club based in Birmingham.
