Wooly Nylon IT

Postby Kevin Cann » Mar 17th, '11, 15:32

I just bought 1000 metres of wooly nylon from http://www.empressmills.co.uk/acatalog/80_s_Bulk.html for £3.50

It easily strips down to individual fibres and is the same stuff that many dealers sell as IT for a lot more money.

I bought black and I stripped it down easily enough and floated a note using the LeClair animator method and it worked well and is more invisible than Kevlar IT as it doesn't catch the light as much.

I also bought a crochet hook from the same source for £2.00 which is great for pulling the bands back thru the cylinder when putting ITRs back together.

Best of all it's available online so I don't have to dress up like a girl and visit a sewing shop

This may be a good American source for it?
