Often they'll follow what their teenage siblings listen to, which is pretty much what is on the charts. Going for Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera and similar should be safe.

For slightly older stuff, Vengaboys would work, so would Ann Lee, Tatu, N' Sync, Backstreet Boys, anything simple, in 4:4 timing and upbeat. Some of the dj's I know have been roped in to play parties like that and those artists made up most of the playlists.
