Hey-

My name is Nick, Im 17 and I just started getting into magic. I was at the Mirage in their steakhouse last June and their house magician came by and did the ID and flying card trick. I couldnt help my curiosity and researched these tricks online. I have been practicing both lately and I am getting better slowly. I am going to San Diego State next year for college and I hope to get a job as a house magician at a resturant down their. So, I really need to develop my skills. I'll be spending alot of time here in the future and I cant wait to get some advice regarding some questions I have.

Nick

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Welcome to TM Buildit (Nick) Keep up the practice and get yourself a good magic book. if it's cards you are mainly interested in then get either one of the following - royal road to card magic, erdnase expert at the card table (the 1st book i had this one its old and a bit heavy going but according to the late Dai Vernon the only book you'll ever need on cards), there is also a series of books called card college by Giobbi these are more up to date and have alot of pictures photos.
As far as books go it seems a bit of an old debate on which is the best so scout around and see which suits you better.
