I guess I'd better say hello since I've made a post or two.
I am approaching 40 and started in magic about 6 years ago with a dove pan, a change bag, a bag of balloons (which started the whole thing off) and room full of twins at the local twins club. Since then I've spent money, bought stuff, attended conferences and become secretary of the Bath Circle of Magicians - but I still use the dove pan, change bag and balloons in my (now infrequent) childrens shows.

I am the proud (?) father of identical twin girls who will, in time, feature in my unbelievable teleportation effect!! My wife ran the twins club and every christmas we had a party with a magician. Finally the club outgrew it's venue and we had to pay to hire a bigger hall and so couldn't afford a proper entertainer. I had by this time learnt to make some balloon models and my wife said "oh you can make balloons for half hour, that will keep them quiet!" Realising that this was not enough I bought the afformentioned props and put together a simple kids show using some hoary old classics - dove pan sweet production, magically linking hankerchiefs etc. And from there my interest, repotoire (and dare I say reputation) has grown.

I did my first "grown up" show to a local friendly society ( the over 60's) last xmas and have been asked by a rival society from the next village to do theirs this year, so I am branching out a little, but mostly I just do the odd childrens show for friends or people who I've been reccomended to.

Hi Fatman and welcome.

Spending money on magic is something that we all share and it's a real benefit of TM to be able to make a more informed choice when purchasing, by reading the pages of reviews.

I look forward to reading your posts.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hi FM (seems more polite!),

Welcome to the wonderful world of TM, envy abounds over your twins (and the potential for magic, never thought of that as good reason to try for another couple of children before - must talk to wife when she gets back!).

Anyway, hope you have fun here. Mmmm. spent money, bought stuff, gone to conventions - sounds like you'll really be at home here. Look forward to getting to know you better as time progresses.

Welcome,

Vic
