Hi, anyone who has this effects will know its based around Crazy Mans Handcuffs? Can someone help me where i can buy the strong sturdy Wxxx needed for the effect. Ive tried looking on craft shops and model stores but just cant find it. Im trying my best to not give too much away, those of you who own the effect will know what im after.

I couldnt find the correct 'thing' either. The craft shop that was in my area wasnt the best, and is now gone. Looking on the web isnt a good idea either as there are different kinds - You'll have noticed that Nabil mentions that you should test them first as some work better than others.

One day I was restringing one of my guitars. I hadnt done this in about a year and a half as my amp broke so couldnt play it. Anyway I was taking off the old strings and noticed they were very dark and slightly rusted, then it hit me . The G string (unwound) worked quite well - maybe not as well as the correct thing which may have a bit more spring, but well enough to use for the effect. Because of the darkness and slight rust it didnt reflect any light either, so no need for the blueing process.
