Hi from Bournemouth

Postby ridl3r » Mar 28th, '11, 14:07

Hey,

I've been singed up for a couple of years here. But I kind of just lurked :)

I've decided to start the journey in magic and performing!

I do feel that maybe I've started at a bit of a late age (20?), I wish I stuck at it when I was 10 years old! Haha. But better late than never.

Oh the innocence of youth!!

I was 57 when I started performing so you have no worries about being "too old" at 20

Welcome to TM, you are one of the lucky people who has a bricks and mortar magic shop locally.

If you haven't done so yet get round to Mike Danatas magic studio, you will find anything you could ever need to perform magic there and Mike himself id the epitomy of helpfulness.

Only problem I have when I go in there is that I come out significantly lighter in the wallet than I had intended!!!

Oh,

Maybe 20 isn't too bad! Ha.

Yeah, I came across them on google, and saw a video of their shop...it seems there isn't much they don't have in that shop!

My girlfriend is a singer and we were trying to think of an act which can be done the interval...and I thought, a magician would be really cool! We don't really have the budget to pay for one, so I thought I could learn, as I've always enjoyed magic.

All I really need is a 30 minute set. And I've allowed my self 6 - 9 months to practice to get the routine and the performance to perfection!

Any good advice, books, DVD's for this kind of magic...going to table to table?

    Welcome to TM 8)

I wish that I'd started as young as 20 but alas I was much older so you have PLENTY of time to develop and enjoy yourself before old age sets in!

Which part of Bournemouth are you from and have you visited Mike Danata's studio?

Mike was responsible for getting me hooked and with his patience and help I've not looked back since - although I've still put a lot of work in myself.

Wish I started at twenty, unfortunatly I started at 9? yeah 9 so my youth was basically mis-spent.

Hello, I saw you guys chatting about magic and Bournemouth, do you know of anywhere that teach it in the area? I'd absolutely love to learn.
