Thought I would share with you all, the ungimmicked version of NFW.

NFW - Ungimmicked

Thank you Rune. I have the gimmicked version of NFW and, whilst the effect is stunning, I prefer to avoid gimmicked effects, if possible. I asked about an ungimmicked routine of NFW in a couple magic shops about 6 months ago and the guys all denied it's existence. At that time, I thought that I was mistaken in having heard that it was possible, so I stopped looking for it. Now that I know it's possible, I'll investigate this further. Hopefully, with the help of your video clip, and a clearer understanding of sleights that are possible, I have a better chance of working it out for myself!

Experience and knowledge will definately help you to understand what's happening and where it's happening.

All that I can say is that the presentation was flaweless in my opinion.

Yes, I've just about worked out what, when and why!!! I'm impressed with myself as I couldn't have done that 6 months ago. I just need to practice (+++) to get a convincing performance now. Needless to say, I'm NOT impressed by the magic shops where I made enquiries. I won't embarrass them by naming them but they are well known and many here, as well as those who visit another major magic forum, rate them highly.

That was very nice and I especially liked the use of the spread to do a bit of dirty work. Lovely touch. Is this your own "creation"? I know of at least one other magician who has an un gimmicked NFW routine. Again, very nice, well done.

Here's another Ungimmicked NFW effect. Its a more "in the hands" approach but still works.

Again, nice work. There are two TINY little parts that could be done a bit more smoothly, but overall it's a great effect.

Again thanks to everyone. If this is my own creation, no, it's not, I picked it up somewhere, a long time ago, but I can't remember when. It's my own variation on the routine, with the cleanup and spread stuff, so, it's my own variation on the UNFW.

very well handled Rune, clean and smooth....but i do have a problem with one small point, theres no logical reason for using the rest of the deck (i know WHY its used for the effect) but as far as a layman sees it, the deck isnt used for the effect so why bother have it in your hand?

But other than that well done

As part of a routine, you will use the deck to find the other cards. Then you will count through them, and them place the deck a side. A clip like this will never get the complete feeling of how it looks in a show, but thats how I use it, and never had any negative feedback on that.

Rune , GoldFish, where did you get these routines? I'm also a bit wary of carrying gimmicked card. I saw 'mercury' which claims the same thing (tho I couldn't get the demo to work), is that where you got it?

I can't remember where I got this, but it's pretty basic. There is no reason to do NFW with gimmicked cards, they are just as well performed without gimmicks.
