Hi, the video was too dark for me to see clearly. Also, some of the moves seemed too quick as though you were scared of being spotted. Can you post it again a bit lighter ?

I'm not sure what I think about this. It's a different presentation and climax, but I can't help but think it actually hurts the trick.

Your first two vanishes were decent. You need to work on your speed a little bit, but overall the basic mechanics are there. Just keep practicing the moves over and over, and you'll see a MAJOR improvement. Technique isn't really the problem here, though.

The third vanish was the highlight of your effect, and you did this one very well. It was convincing and the pacing and timing of the moves were almost flawless.

The problem comes from the climax. All three vanishes are almost entirely nullified with your climax. The basic principle of the matrix is moving the coins from one place to another without touching them. You started out well, but by ending it with the coins returning to their original positions, it tends to dull the effect a bit. A sharp spectator will begin to question it.

I'm not saying this won't work on a layman, it most likely would. But I think this version is prone to a greater amount of suspicion.

If you'd like some handling tips or suggestions, hit me up on a private message and I'll see if I can help you out.

I hope you don't take offense to this. Overall, I think your technique is strong and practice will only improve it. I just think the finish needs to be re-worked for a stronger effect. Hope this helps.

I agree with demitri, the climax is very diferent from what it usually is. I am not sure which matrix version this is, but honestly, I would look into another version of matrix.

Keep it up.

I love the emphasize on the "This is the matrix again"....beautiful.

As for the trick, well since I don't know actually how this is done (apart from how you made the coins disappear from under the cards...that could do with being a bit smoother). I can't really make any suggestions to making it seem more believable. (What the hell...am I just a lay who has succummed to the darkside??).

But at the beggining the handling of the cards sets off fog horns for me. "Why doesn't he show us the other side." You show the 5 of spades later on, but it doesn't really itch that scratch. As you deal out the cards (and later correct them), it does feel a little suspicious.....I highly recommend that you actually ignore me as I haven't a clue what I'm talking about.

No you are actullay right, KameKase . I see what you mean.

Daveywavey1212 try to work in a part where you show the other side the card in the beginning. It would make the trick all the more impressive.

One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure if i was supposed to or not, was the coins you were placing down on the right (magicians left). Please tell me if I was supposed to see those... All in all, very nice trick, you have inspired me to learn it now.

yeah it's a different version, but looks easier to do, either way it came out really good, the only thing i can say is when u showed that u put the coin in your hand, try not to make the card spin on the carpet (it might blow the trick's part cover)Im not goin to reveal anything but i think you know what i mean :)

If you are really into matrix type effects then I would highly recommend getting John Kennedy's Impossible Matrix. It uses three coins and only two cards. One of the cards is gaffed but as long as you dont mind using gaffed cards then the effect is very clean.
It is available from http://www.magictricks.co.uk/prodshow.asp?code=174&=
There is also a demo video here too.

I won't comment on the matrix itself, as all the above comments are valid.

But what I would say is this... invest in a close-up or performance mat. The Apollo close-up mats are very good:

I also got one from International Magic with a card design on it. Again, it's very good. Cost about £15 I think.

Get yourself one, and you will instantly add a professional edge to any videos you post. It does look neater than kneeling on the floor and doing tricks on the carpet.

Cheers,
