Wearing a tailcoat and using a Topit

Postby V.E. Day » Apr 7th, '11, 11:03

Hello TalkMagicfolks,

Does anyone know where I can gain some knowledge of using a Topit while wearing a Tailcoat? I usually use a Topit sewed into a skirt suit and another sewn into a velvet jacket that come down below the waist, thus covering the Topit. But I am unsure how to wear the Topit if I am wearing a Tailcoat as a formal tailcoat finishes above the waist - so how do I stitch a Topit into it?

Does anyone know if there is a particular design for a Tailcoat Topit, or do I just sew it in higher up?

Is there any literature I can get hold of to learn how others have done it?

Hope you can help please.

Thank you.

you should wear morning tails if possible. These sweep back in an arc, rather than have a bolero jacket top.
These will hold a topit. In fact, one of the origins of the device, is the large doccument, or sheet music pocket, that this style of tail coat came with.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
