I'm realtively new to the magic scene and am looking for a local group to meet up with for tips and advice. I live in carmarthenshire west wales and can't find anything on google, anyone got any contacts ?

Have a look at the Regional Meetings Section, http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic27615.php and see if there's anything mentioned in there which helps.

We have a small gathering in Swansea every month or so. Camarthanshire isn't too far away if you fancy a train journey
