Postby chriscox » Apr 16th, '11, 15:38

Hello,

Thought I'd let you know I'm doing one final version of Mind Over Patter before resting it and getting cracking on a new show for Edinburgh & an autumn tour.

Hope to see some of you there..

Chris is delighted to announce a one-off final performance of his 5 star, award winning show Mind Over Patter, you know, the one that wowed Edinburgh & New Zealand.

He’ll be performing it in the Udderbelly at the Southbank Centre in London on the 12th May at 9pm. You can get tickets at http://www.underbelly.co.uk/webpages/southbank/southbank-show.php?id=61:9

The UK’s most exciting mind-reader who can’t read minds Chris Cox is renowned for his incredible ability to predict the unpredictable. After 4 years of award winning sell out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, performances at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival & UK tours Chris will make the impossible possible in his 5 star show that’ll astound and astonish with his mongrel hybrid mix of mind reading related nonsense.

Unleashing the dormant mind-reader in every audience member, Chris envisions a perfect world where the mundane can be magical, getting a seat on the train is always assured, the objects of your desire always find you irresistible – and even winning the lottery could be a possibility.

His electric mix of contemporary mindreading, psychology, body language, magic, illusion and humour has spawned four Edinburgh Fringe shows, one UK tour and two West End shows, and earned a heap of four- and five-star reviews, three Edinburgh Fringe Awards, sell-out shows and a growing army of celebrity fans.

Breathtakingly accurate, his predictions are a mongrel hybrid mix of psychology, reading signals, human control, the disarming power of comedy and lucky guesswork. He constantly astonishes audiences with cutting-edge and highly imaginative stunts, charmingly delivered with a warm and mischievous sense of fun.

‘Does tricks that would make Jesus proud. Very funny. Remarkable’ Time Out

‘Stunning…. has other magicians scratching their heads.’ The Times

‘A reminder that Derren Brown isn’t the only mentalist on the block’ Top 5 Comedy. The Times

‘He’s brilliant, he’ll blow your mind!’ Ricky Gervais

‘Properly impressive…You’ll be gobsmacked. Astonishing. His demonstrations are so remarkable you are left thinking he couldn’t possibly have done them. You don’t have to be able to see into the future to predict a good future for him. Astounding… great entertainment,” Chortle

“Hugely entertaining” The Observer

‘Tim Minchin’s Edinburgh Must Sees. – Chris Cox. He will freak you out by telling you what you’re thinking or making you think what he wants. Funny and amazing.’ The Sunday Times

‘Enough mystification to make for a fully entertaining hour – masterful skill and technique – We are clearly in the hands of a master technician – MUST SEE!” The Stage

“An impressive performer…slicker and faster than a baby seal on a waterslide…seriously impressive…a terrific show”The Scotsman

‘A show that’ll change the way you think about your life. A mesmerising performance’ * * * * The Edinburgh Evening News

“Lovably geeky, deceptively talented.” Time Out

‘A dazzling display of non-telepathy. Seen Lie to Me or The Mentalist on the telly? Imagine Simon Baker or Tim Roth replaced by Gareth from The Office and over-caffeinated and heavily gelled. That’s Cox’s stage persona…his fast-paced hour-plus was as much of a mind bender as it was a funnybone rattler.’ New Zealand Herald

‘The idea of comedy mixed in with mind reading isn’t one which I wasn’t particularly looking forward to. But it’s nice to be proven wrong – because at the end of this show, I wanted more… let’s just say if you don’t leave pondering “How did he do that?” and smiling stupidly, you’re probably not going to enjoy any comedy over the next 3 or so week.’ TVNZ New Zealand

”After a frenetic hour filled with trickery, cheeky quips, multiple double entendre’s and a soft toy ferret in a jumper – I can officially say I Love Cox. Chris Cox is a charming entertainer full of manic energy and wins you over with his earnest, self effacing stage persona while simultaneously perplexing the audience with his hybrid blend of comedy and magic. I won’t give away too much as it really needs to be seen to be believed, but the finale was downright extraordinary, revealing that every single moment in the show had been carefully crafted and Cox is deserving of all the praise that has been heaped on him. While leaving the show, I could hear that I was not the only one pondering out loud, “How did he do that?”. This is a must see show.’ TV 3, New Zealand.
