Arcane Deck - subtle one-way faces on royalty

Postby user24 » May 1st, '11, 21:15

Hi all,

Just been fiddling with my mostly-unused white arcane deck from ellusionist and noticed that there's a subtle one-way design on the faces of the royalty cards (post edited to avoid exposing too much).

Just thought I'd bring that to your attention. Personally I can't really use it for an effect because all the cards in mine are slightly off-center in the printing (and this is after I sent one deck back because it was shockingly off-center). Plus I prefer standard red bikes so I can slip in my I.D mid-routine (yesyes I could make my own from an arcane, but I feel that fancy decks invite too much examination. My Dad was suspicious of my fan-back Tally-Ho's, let alone something really wild like this deck).

But you might be able to take advantage of this AFAIK un-advertised feature of the deck.

Cheers,
-h.

(PS: Anyone want an almost-unused arcane deck which has been printed slightly off-center? Could be used for making some gaff cards. )

edit: yeah, just had another look over ellusionist's site and there's nothing in the marketing about one-way faces. Also found this http://hwcdn.net/z6j9k6w2/cds/gallery/a ... index.html which allows you to see what I'm talking about :)

I was looking to buy one of these decks actually and thank you for the heads up about the marking ;)

It's a nice deck, very pretty and elegant. The smoke effect on the picture-cards is really lovely, and the subdued colours used throughout the deck are very appealing - the reds are a nice blood red. The jokers I'm not really keen on though.

I've been scouring the backs for any kind of marks but nothing yet, I think they're water-tight (but with plenty of little spots you could add your own marks to). The one-way faces on the royalty are a nice little bonus :)

edit: Hah, just spotted that the backs are one-way too, I'm liking this deck more now. I love the fact that these are un-advertised features, and have edited my original post to avoid too much exposure.

I wouldn't mind but I have been at them for ages with no luck in succeeding. They're tough to find the right spot...
