learned pig website

Postby cc100 » May 21st, '11, 20:31

Is this website safe to use? I read somewhere that it might contain malware eg. viruses or trojans.

Thanks

Unless something's changed in the last year or so, it should be fine. There was a thread a while back on the LPP and the feedback, including my own, have been positive.

Did you check when the information was written ? There was a problem with the site a year or so ago but it was fixed pretty quickly.

It can take a very long time for applications to be processed (it's done by a human)

Be patient, you'll get the details eventually

Same as Alec here. I'm pretty sure I applied a year ago, and still no answer.

The Learned Pig is a great site, I'm on there quite often hunting for new (or rather resurrecting, old and forgotten) ideas.

Be patient with the applications, Marko does go very quiet from time to time but I'm sure he'll get around to you.

If you've been waiting for months you should probably apply again. I applied the other day and got confirmation the next day.

The site is good, it features some old classics and some forgotten gems.

They have all the issues of Theo Annemann's 'Jinx' magazine available, which is a great read.

A while back they did have problems with malware, I'm not that familiar with the technical stuff but I think they changed to a more secure web host or something like that and it is now safe.

Anyway, I've never had any problems with it though I do have full anti-virus protection on my laptop.

It really is worth joining, you will find some great stuff on there.
