There are two decks in the box one with a solid red back and one with a solid black back (both have White boarders) the symbols on both sets are printed in black ink!

Best Wishes Michael

I got these through the post the other day. It was just the refill deck so I will be creating a routine. The quality of the cards seems roughly the same as BESP2, but I always thought they were good quality anway. The box looks unassuming like from a real lab. It has been ages since I bought BESP2 but I think there is 2 new gaffed cards that BESP2? With the new second DF'er making it possible for some nice routines. I think there was only one with BESP2.

All in all a nice product. I will probably order a second deck soon with the booklet, to see what some of the great minds of magic come up with for this great product.

5/5!

I've just checked the Magicbox website but the product description for BESP3 is actually the one for BESP2. So, what is the difference between 2 and 3? Would I be right in assuming that it's the same cards packaged with a new booklet of effects?

Hi Replicant. Michael Murry wrote this about the new sets :
celebrity wrote:To be honest there isn't a vast amount of difference between them. Since the USPCC lost the artwork and directed future prints to their Spanish counterpart we were hesitant in putting it out again as Beyond ESP2 as we could not guarantee that they would be identical and did not want people to purchase them on this basis. I feel that the quality of the card stock is actually better on this third run, the box has been updated along with a red/black double backed card and access to additional routines.

Much obliged, Jim. Had I bothered to check back a few pages in this thread, I'd have found the info myself. :?

I thought that (re above post) and as a result have ordered myself a deck :D

It seems that I am similar to a lot of people who have posted in this thread; I am after an ESP deck for some of my own ideas and mentalism style tricks to add into my close up routine.
This deck seems to be a great quality deck, which is subtley different to a "normal" deck (ie its got proffesional looking backs, which can be explained if necesary to show that you cant see through the cards (saw this on a DVD from magicbox - great little line to have in case someone questions you) AND the box has a very "these are cards, but they arent normal cards" feel about it - I think the white of ESP3 looks better than the black EPS2 version, personal taste I guess)

Will post my thoughts and opinions when they arrive (Monday?)

NB This relates to ESP 3 (as ESP 2 is out of print now)

I got this in the post on monday, and all I can say is WOW !!!

They were on special offer from MagicBox.co.uk and I'm so glad that I got this - it fits right into my existing mentalism / mind reading routine (ESPerfect is one of the tricks I use, but now I can make my own gaffs using these cards and the refill deck I ordered too) and the marking system :O I couldn't work it out for love nor money, so read the instructions and STILL couldn't really see it, its amazingly clever !

The booklet you get is full of ideas for tricks, using the marking system and not using it, using both the red and black, single decks, 5 cards, all the cards, using the gaffs included, how to use predictions, patter for col reading - it could be placed onto a DVD and sold on its own for the price of the deck :D

I also have loads of ESP tricks in mind, just using ideas from the booklet which I have since learned are already marketed tricks explained in a Larry Becker book; the tricks are called ESPITOME and Mind Blaster (from the book "World of Super Mentalism II").
I am also aware that in "13 steps" there is a trick called 3rd choice which can be easily adapted for ESP cards.

I cant praise this deck enough, Magicbox.co.uk have really pulled out all of the stops and have impressed me again with their speedy delivery, excellent quality products and brilliance for taking a simple idea / problem and solving it (I had major issues with my ESPerfect cards having standard card backs ... it fitted well into my card routine, but now I can step away from "cards" and use these as symbols and add a deeper feeling to the tricks I perform)

10/10 for this Deck, everyone who is into mentalism should get one :D
(however, after seeing the variety of tricks available with ESP decks in general, I may have to purchase some of these too - they have a similar "not playing cards, but scientific tools to measure ESP / PSI power" feel to them :D)

I've put together a short video with an effective but easy ESP card trick. You need to build a presentation, but a short 'performance' and the instructions are now freely available. You can use the Beyond ESP deck (v2 or v3), the Paralabs cards or even (dare I say it?) my own MK-MOD cards that you kindly linked to above.

Have a look at the video and have fun. And let us know what you think!

Cheers,
T.

FINALLY got around to buying this (of course v3 now rather than v2) and I have to say I am exceptionally happy with the subtlety of the markings.

I am yet to delve in to the accompanying book properly but so far I think it was worth the price for that alone and would have happily bought the "symbols" separately (which of course I can and will do with the refills).

I like that the box has the symbols on them too.

I ordered a pack of these and they arrived today. I made a deal with myself not to open the booklet until I'd worked out the markings for myself. It took a while but I'd be amazed if any spectator could spot it by thinking "are the marked?". I think the only reason I spotted it was because I knew they were.

I'm very happy with them. Now to think of routines.....
