What is this called?

Postby Pandywooo » May 29th, '11, 21:43

I am really sorry to ask this, but i have completely forgotten the name of a card sleight and it's making it hard to find ideas for using it. Ok so it's a way of holding 5 cards and spreading them to only show 4 (third card down always hidden).
I was shown this by my grandad who sadly is no longer around to ask the name. It's a simple one but so far I can only do the move which in itself is nice but fairly boring.
I'm sure the first person that reads this will know and again I'm sorry to ask but there are so many wild and crazy names to remember when you're learning. I have a lot of books and it's in none of them, typical!

Thanks
Andy

P.s I'm sure I will know it when I see it

Hi Andy,

It sounds very much like the Scarne spread to me.

Hope that helps.

agreed

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Yes! The ascanio spread. Thank you that has been doing my head in for weeks! Now for a bit of research. Any pointers on using it without giving things away, it feels to me to have many many possibilities.

This is a good trick with it. Just need to be a wee bit careful of angles. Also this is not my performance, just youtube'd it.

PS. I performed this on TV when I was 15/16. Just thought I'd throw that in there ;)

Used in Card College and a number of Paul Gordon effects.
Send Paul an email asking him what, and in what book, and he may even give you a discount :D

James Brown has a good effect using it on his Lecture dvd, twisting the aces combined with the Hofzingser Ace Problem.
