When performing close-up at weddings there's usually a photographer snapping away. Because magic is nice and visually you'll probably end up in a lot of their pics. I always swap business cards with them and normally they're happy to send you a few digital shots in return for a link to their website. Although some of them refuse or ask for silly money like £15 per pic. What's your experience?

Not done many weddings for a few years, but from what I remember it was usually a case of them taking my email address, promising to send some shots over, and me never hearing from them again!

You could always try the newlyweds.

When I got married part of the reason we chose the photographer we did was because as well as the album we got every picture he took on DVD as well as the copyright to reproduce them.

I know this varies hugely from photographer to photographer but if you do a lot of weddings I am sure at least some of the couples would be obliging if you asked nicely.

I always get their contact info and then contact them later and ask if I can use any videos/photos I'm included in, in return I'll credit them.

They're usually more than happy to do so.

You must have met some of the same photographers as me then.

I have come across the odd couple of photographers that do pass on a couple of snaps but plenty that do not.

They, as well as videographers always ask if they can get some shots, and as its a wedding you think it will be nice for the bride and groom to have some footage but very very rarely do you hear from them. I do always allow them to photograph or video it but im getting very tired of the lack of response from them.
