Postby neil_the_newbie » May 30th, '11, 16:24

Steadily working my way through Tarbell and looking for a brown hollow egg. Can anyone recommend one and a supplier please and ones to avoid.

Many thanks.

Why not just blow an egg the old-fashioned way? It is not difficult. Put a pin prick in both ends, and blow gently. Then clean under running water. Problem sorted.

Blowing an egg will make the handling for silk-to-egg (Eggstraordinary eggsplanation in Tarbell 1) very difficult.

It's tricky to find the correct coloured eggs over here - although I believe TopSecretMagic.co.uk stock them. We needed the effect for a stage show a while back, and managed to source one eventually.

Whilst on the subject - please watch Lance Burton's performance of "Silk to Egg" on youtube. Far too many people rush through the first phase, and treat it like a cheap joke, but it's possible to give the first phase it's own space, and make it an astonishing moment all to itself.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

Silk to egg

Postby danata » Jun 1st, '11, 09:51

Hi!
I have a very good brown egg for silk to egg trick, complete with egg & DVD etc, it's on my website.

Also the hole is not on the side, it's on the end, which is better for the method (in my opinion!!). The egg can also be used to vanish an 18" Silk (rather like a Palmo but without the extra hole!)
