Card in SEALED glass clear beer bottle? ( crown cap )

Postby Danny Joseph » May 30th, '11, 23:59

Hey guys,

So I was performing the other night, and someone asked me if I could buy a sealed glass bottle from the bar, and make their card go inside.

Unfortunately (and probably unsurprisingly) I couldn't. ( however I did pull off a very highly received improvised card to `test tube` ( long plastic tube containing a shot ) trick :P

However it kept bugging me and I wanted to find a way, and two days later, I have a sure-fire method to do it.

But before I make any exclamations to owning the trick, is this something that has been done before? I've never seen it.

I kind of hoping not as I think if I begin to pull this off, it would be a real reputation-maker, especially with being able to perform it on a real bar in a street/pub magic public performance.

Hi Danny,

I've seen it on Etienne Pradier's Professional Repertoire DVD set.

Ettienne performed this at our club a couple of years ago, and it was absolutely astounding, there is quite a bit of set up and you need an awful lot of missdirection to pull it off, but although Ettienne is a master of his craft, im sure that this effect alone has got him quite a few gigs.

I've never learn't, or even seen it, so, I wouldn't know how hard it is.

The solution I found, works pretty easily with a 2 minute set-up & reset. Only hard part, and the only bit I'm unsure if it would work, is making it so the card can also be signed.

But I do have a possible method, it's only costing me £17 for materials, which includes a order of empty beer bottlesm for practice & testing.

Was also quite chuffed as, when I was browsing the same shop, I found some materials that, with five minutes of d.i.y, could be made into a spike under cup set for only about £14.

The power of wilkisons, haha.

I have method that always worked, a few tears back. Impromptu. It was back in the 'sealed bottle' craze.
