The pubic gets what the public wants. I hate all this "oooh lets vote for so-and-so, it'll make a point/be funny/good!".No it won't. You are being undemocratic. Leave it be. If its a fix, then don't enter it in the first placee.

It was a joke really that she got through. Is it me or did she remind anyone else of Peter Kays Geraldine ?
Thought David and Karen were excellent and he was very dignified at the end

Oooh bitchy!

I'm sure on an organists forum they are saying how well she has done to triumph over the magician. I thought she was entertaining and reminded me of a young Mrs Mills.

David and Karen did brilliantly to get as far as they did and it certainly won't do their career or fees any harm. As much as I think DP is a great magician, he should have done something different as it was the same trick as his audition but underwater. He's an impressive illusionist and has many great effects in his arsenal but I think the public would think that all they can do is change places and we all know they are capable of a wide range of effects.

Anyhow, kudos to them both for reaching the semi-final and finally getting the judges to admit that magic is a valid art form. They did very well indeed.

Personally I loved their acts, naturally I done my best to come up with ways they could have or have achieved them and was looking forward to seeing them in the finals.

I was suprised they didn't get voted through but they did an amazing job and gave it their all. Also, like magicwand said, they did stay very dignified at the end.

I thought the acts that went through weren't the best on the night at all. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with David on the night. He's a cracking illusionist but as I said when I was watching it, he performed it very well but it's just the same illusion as the audition, I don't know why he didn't do something totally different, the audience knew what was coming.

I really loved Enchantment and Up and Over (or whatever they were called) were great fun and original. They were probably the two I'd have put through.

I actually LOVED HER (sorry!!!) she made me smile, she made me laugh (I think it was the speed of the playing, it just seemed to get faster & faster, I was in stitches!!) my feet were tapping, & my hands were tapping, all at the same time!. Of course she won't win it, but I thought she was GREAT!

I though that David & Karen did a great job, & actually Simon was quite kind, if you consider, what he COULD have said!!

All good wishes

I haven't seen this but is there a boyband (or similar grouping of fit young men) involved? Is Simon Cowell involved? If so, the fit young men will probably win. Little girls have purses that need emptying.

Me? Cynical?

There is a silly Justin Bieber clone to get Cowell's money belt even fuller.

No one is ever forced to buy records/mp3 downloads. Things become popular because the masses like it. It doesn't account for taste or intelligence or anything else. I am just greatful there are less and less of them on the earth (when it comes to entertainment that is). Don't lose sleep over a tv show. Let people buy what they want. Talent will always be talent - no matter what.

Just because we are magicians, are we not supposed to approve of anything else?

Tee hee. Apropos of nothing, I'm listening to Ed Reardon's Week on iPlayer and he's just described light entertainment as "Stalinism"
