It's true. He was having a smoke in the car park with James Brown after his lecture and was asking how easy it was to hypnotise someone. He was turned into a statue with a bit of waking suggestion. Mr Grue must have used similar words and Eric's subconscious simply did what it was told.

It was better than that - I was showing him a properly dumb trick which involved him holding my hand down on a table. I asked him to remove his hand on the count of three, and he found he couldn't. Reverse suggestion!

As he's Subversive's financial director, I should really use this to torture him when he doesn't let me spend the company's money on sweets.
