Hi there my Name is smokie, I found this website as I have been searching for my mothers father. She was born in London in 1955 her father was a magician. I have been trying so hard to try and find a little clue to help me in my search. I was wondering if I would get help here.

Hi there his name was mohammed Bux that is the name on my mums birth certificate. From the information we have received, He worked alongside Ali bongo and David Nixon.

Ali Bongo worked extensively with Paul Daniels. Paul is a very helpful and approachable guy - send him an e-mail and he might be able to help.

thank you very much for your replies I really appreciate that. Have you a link to the magic circle? I emailed Paul Daniels last week I could only get his fan email so I sent an email through that but I have had no reply as yet.

I wonder if he was related to the legendary Kuda Bux (The Man With The X Ray Eyes) who died in Feb. 1981?

Kudha Bux was born in Kashmir sometime before 1905. He came to England in 1935. He worked, I think on at least oine of the Jasper Maskelyne shows and a video iof his act is available on the 'You Asked For It; DVDS (set of 4) out out by the Miracle Factory (Todd Karr.USA)

At the back of my mind--from teenage days--there was a brother.
Besides the Magic Circle it might be worth asking Betty Davenport at Davenports shop in The Strand.
