Not another card to wallet post ... Found, Infinity.... Done

Well, sort of.......
In a couple of weeks, I'll be jumping in for a C2W wallet, they seem to pop up on the For Sale boards every so often as the new 'in thing' makes an appearance.

What I’m going for is a no frills worker without forking out a fortune, and as such have got it down to 2, the JOL no palm (would love a plus with the extra but I think it out of my budget for the mo) and the Undercover Wallet with the Undercover looking the favourite even though it’s slightly bulkier, it seems more practical and offers more Bang for my Buck if you know what I mean.

Not overly looking for a peek wallet as I have the outlaw for that (it houses works ID, couple of mentalism card and an old credit card so I have a reason for having it), but will be used as an everyday wallet too, so quality leather that will age well and still work is a must. Thought about Real Mans Wallet, but wasn’t sold on it’s speed of loading....

Now, I know we have many experts on here (as well as a few addicts.... :D ) and I would greatly appreciate advice or a guiding hand in my choice. Like I said, I have a couple of weeks to decide before splashing out, but I try to cover all bases before I take a plunge (one happy result is my discovery of KE Pro, a fantastic piece that often covers for a deck swap out or cleans up after using a specific set of decks.

Thank you in advance for advice received, I know this general topic has been covered in lots of previous posts, but to try and coalesce the various threads has proved a nightmare and the advice changes regularly, add to that the fact I haven’t found anything on the Undercover Wallet even though it sounds fantastic. Also to clarify, I’m not worried about palming, I’m not perfect  but then again I don’t do much that requires a perfect palm, I misdirect to cover my woeful inadequacies in that department but I’m willing to put the effort in to perfect it if needed.

My advice would be the JOL hip-wallet.

It's the only wallet that actually looks like a wallet, not like a huge slab of leather that your grandad may have carried.

Conviction is the key. If the spec's have the slightest doubt that the wallet isn't 'legit', then the whole effect is for nought.

Also, the JOL hip-wallet is a palm-loader. I know you specified no-palm, but again, I return to conviction. THe problem with no-palm wallets is that they fail the 'no-contact' condition. Again, conviction of the audience (the extent to which they are 'fooled') is weakened, because the no-palm wallet has to be brought into direct contact (or at least exteremely close) with the deck in order to load. Once the card is shown to have 'arrived' in the wallet, the auduence will mentally back-track to the point where the deck came into contact with the deck. THey wont know exactly what went on, but they will strongly suspect that something happened.

On the plus side, once one overcomes the fear of palming, whole new vistas of truly impossible magic are opened up. For a good collection (if not the best collection) of wallet (Balducci and Mullica) routines see Cardshark (Darwin Ortiz, OOP).

Thanks, not worried about the palming, it's just that the no palm seemed cheaper.

Anyone tried the Undercover, or is it just me that finds myself drawn to it? Looks and sounds great......

From what I can determine, the Underground wallet is virtually identical to the JOL hip-wallet, it just has the load slot rotated by 90 degrees.

From a quick survey, the JOL is cheaper too £41 comaped to £45 for the undercover wallet.

I have the Alakazam Infinity Wallet and its awesome - high enough quality to be used as an every day real life wallet, but you always have a couple of killer effects handy should the need arise...

Which JOL, Stoner?

I prefer the JOL hip wallet for "regular" CTW, but have the large Plus Wallet for more formal occasions, and if I want to use the other features.

Well, now sorted with an Infinity Wallet, boy is it good. The load is fantastic and smooth, the peek is a knockout and the hideouts are amazing. was tempted by the JOL + large but thought it would look slightly too large to pass as an everyday wallet. Thank you
for everyones help with this and to the supplier of the wallet in particular a true gentleman and a scholar).
