I was going to order.

The Trilogy (3 DVD Set) by Dan And Dave Buck

My slights are getting pretty good, but I am still at a very early learning curb.
Do you think this may be a little too advanced for me?

Should I maybe opt for something else?

I would say these 3 DVD set are not worth getting at the moment. I say buy the royal road to card magic. You could even start with one of Devo's DVD's to start you off.

Though there are some sleights taught on The Trilogy, its far better suited to card flourishing.

Dan & Dave are technically brilliant with a pack of cards, and the sleights they employ require you to be....if not technically brilliant, then half way decent. It'd be like taking a couple of piano lessons, then attempting to play a Rachmaninov piece. Completely disheartening. You'll think you can NEVER be this good, and that's not a good place to be.

I concur with magicollie there. The Royal Road is far smoother journey than The Trilogy, which may just make you want to give up. And if its flourishing you're after, then De'vo's Xtreme Beginnerz is tailor made for those wishing to learn some moves.

A question: How old are you?
I don't mean this in a rude or condecending way but it will have an impact on a full answer.

Actually, I'm probably going to say no whatever the answer is.
What effect are you wanting to perform from triology?

The effects on the Trilogy are explained fully, but they are for the more advanced card practitioner. If you have finished Royal Road and perfected the material in it, then you may be able to get to grips with some of the things on here.
I use the Tivo Transpo's and some of the flourishes from disc 3, but the second disc I find hard to fathom....

I'd agree with the majority of people on here too, the trilogy is definatly not for getting into magic. They're style is very visual, not a lot of patter and misdiretion, it's largly perfectly performed slights so there's a steep learning curve. I too would recomend one of the other resources mentioned, and also, once you've goten upto a standard where you don't feel as intimidated by the dan and dave material, I wouldn't recomend buying the whole set. Last time I looked, you could buy them seperatly too. I don't know if you're interested in learning everything, but I think it might be better money wise to just buy one or two rather than the whole lot and have one just collecting dust. Good luck though with learning, which ever learning path you choose.
