Metal Bending

Postby hds02115 » Jul 9th, '11, 17:45

Hi, So I just read the thread on the misc. part of the forum about where to buy forks for bending, and it got me thinking. A while ago I was quite interested in trying out something like bending forks ect, but it kind of got pushed to the back of my mind for a long time.

I just wanted to ask if anyone knew of any good resources for learning the methods befhind it? Books and things. I'm confident that there are better techniques out there than are demonstrated by the teenages you see on youtube.

Any point in the right direction would be great, thanks.

Banachek-psychokinetic silverware and Morgan Strebler liquid metal are popular. I don't have liquid metal, but I hear good things. If you use the search function you'll find plenty of info on where to start.

The five minutes Banachek spent showing his technique at Tab Mentis was more than enough to perform convincingly.

I would definitely start with anything he has to say on the subject.

I didn't like the Banachek stuff  . The psychology tips are invaluable though, I just didn't like the bends.

Osterlind has some good bends, if you combine the ones from ETMMM 4, MM3 and MM5, you will have a fool-proof routine, and I mean fool-proof, the method for doing 'the work' taught on ETMMM 4 is worth it's weight in gold and works absolutely every time, under intense burning.

Of the Banachek and Strebler stuff, I would opt for Morgan Strebler's "Liquid Metal" - that dvd alone is enough for you to work in the real-world with relation to metal bending.

Nte though, that practice in your bedroom all you want, but you need to practice in the real world for strangers to really get the moves down and create your own routine.

I've had a bit of a look into those liquid metal and psychokinetic silverware dvds, and they both look great, the Banachek one definatly looks amazing. I might have to see about getting a copy and seeing how it goes. Thanks

Liquid Metal, whilst a 'Full Routine' feels contrived, and views as a 'Routine' Versus a demonstrations of 'Psi Abilities' which 'Metal Bending' Truly is,

Likewise there are bits within 'Liquid Metal' that contradict previous actions,

Example: when he ask the spectator to 'Unbend The Fork'

you want that the furthest from the spectators mind as possible, for them to know they could simply 'Unbend It' causes 'Suspicion' about the rest of the routine, you should make the forks as 'Unbendable' as possible

in relation to 'Osterlind' his 'Bending' views as more of a 'Demonstration' and less of a 'Contrived Routine', his view more 'Natural'

if you have any inquires regarding 'Metal Bending' feel free to drop me a line, it's a Staple in all my Professional Bookings
